For Parents

Policies & Handbook

Our handbook contains current information on the day-to-day programs, and the policies to which we adhere. We trust that it will provide you with the tools to make the transition into preschool life a little easier. For more information please download our Kindergarten Handbook (2025) or view our current Evesham Road Kinder policies (currently under review).

Please ask our administration staff or committee member should you have further questions.

Parent Participation

Parents are always welcome and encouraged to “Stay and Play” at kindergarten.

Joining in at kinder is a lot of fun and it is a great way to get to know the teachers and the other children in your kinder group. If you are unable to stay and play during a kindergarten session, there are many other ways you can get involved at Evesham Road.

Joining the Committee, attending social events, fundraising, maintenance or gardening are some examples of how you can get involved in the kindergarten community.

Committee of Management

Evesham Road Kindergarten is an Incorporated Association, which guides how our centre is governed and managed. While our qualified teaching team designs and delivers the educational program, the general running of the kinder is the responsibility of our Committee of Management, elected each November at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). This volunteer committee is responsible for all operational, financial and strategic decisions to support the kinder’s continued success.

Why join the committee?

  • Shape your child’s kinder experience by contributing to key decisions.
  • Build friendships and new skills while working with a supportive team.
  • Ensure the kinder is sustainable by sharing responsibility for our not-for-profit service and fundraising for key projects.

Fundraising

Fundraising is a vital aspect of managing Evesham Road Kindergarten. Significant effort is invested by the kindergarten community to raise funds for the purchase of new equipment, capital works projects such as upgrading our existing facilities and grounds and/or other one-off special projects as requested by our educators or as deemed necessary by the Kindergarten Management Committee.

Our fundraising efforts are often incorporated into social gatherings of the kindergarten community and are a great way to get to know other families and children as well as making a valuable contribution to the learning environment of the children.

If you would like to assist our fundraising team please email the Committee Fundraising Coordinator.

Healthy Eating

At Evesham Road Kindergarten, we aim to promote nutritional eating habits in a safe, supportive environment for all children. We believe that early childhood is an important time for establishing lifelong healthy eating habits and can benefit the children. Good nutrition contributes to good health and wellbeing and this is vital for positive engagement in learning experiences.

Class Sizes

Class sizes are dependent upon enrolment numbers, however we implement the educator to child ratios as advised by The Department of Education and Training (1 educator : 11 children).

Currently our groups (for both 3-year old and 4-year old kinder) are capped at 22.
